Tips For Planning Beach Music Entertainment For Your Wedding

Posted on

Your wedding is one of the biggest celebrations of your life. As part of the celebration, you'll probably want music to get the party started. When you have a beach wedding, you'll need to plan accordingly in order for the music to go off without a hitch. Here are 4 tips for planning beach music entertainment for your wedding.

Choose Between a DJ and Band

Your first choice will be to pick between a DJ and a band. DJs offer a wide range of music choices by the original artists, while bands often bring a more personal vibe to the event and will perform covers of your favorite songs. If you go with a beach band for your beach wedding entertainment, you'll want to pick a band that plays portable instruments that match the beach vibe, such as guitars, bongos, and maracas.

Infrastructure Reqiurements

Your beach music entertainment will likely need certain items in order to create the sounds you want to hear during your wedding reception. For example, they may need electricity. If the beach doesn't have proper electrical outlets already available, you will need to provide portable power generations and plug-ins that accommodate all of the entertainer's needs. The band will also need a place to play, such as a DJ booth rental or a mini-stage. You may also want to provide shade and other comforts, especially if the wedding reception will take place on a hot, sunny day.

Create a List of Must-Have Songs

You and your partner may have your hearts set on a particular song for your first dance. Naturally, you'll check with the entertainment to ensure that they can play your song. You should also have a list of other songs you'll want to play during the reception to see how many of the songs on your list are a part of the DJ or band's repertoire. While you want to include plenty of party music, you also want to keep the event classy and romantic, so pick your song list wisely.

Create a Schedule

You'll need music playing throughout your entire wedding - not just the reception. Think about what will be playing when your guests arrive at the beach, during the ceremony, and throughout dinner/cocktail hour. Ideally, your beach wedding entertainment will be able to accommodate all of your needs in one tidy package.

When you plan in advance, you won't run into any problems regarding your entertainment on your wedding day.
